IRONMAN 70.3 FOR SONY FOUNDATION'S CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY CAMP

On the 26^th of September 2021, Liv will compete in her first Ironman 70.3 (1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run) with the main goal to help sponsor a Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp.

Taking on this challenge, Liv will make the giant leap from racing super sprint triathlons to taking on the gruelling Western Sydney Ironman 70.3 course. The race will kick off bright and early jumping in the water as the sun rises, with the aim to cross the finish line five to six hours later.

Sony Foundation's Children's Holiday Camp Program is a unique respite program that sees high school and university students take on the responsibility for the care of children with disability. For many children, Sony Camp is the first time they spend a night away from their families and carers. This allows a holiday of a lifetime for the children and a valuable weekend off for their families.

Liv participated in her first Sony Camp in 2014, which she now looks back on as a life-changing experience. This was the first time Liv’s camper had spent a night away from home. There were some nerves at the start but it’s safe to say everyone left the camp extremely happy and with experiences of a lifetime. After participating in Sony Camp, Liv was inspired to continue her involvement with the Sony Foundation and is currently a member of the Sony Camps Alumni Committee which aims to support and create awareness of Sony Foundation's Children's Holiday Camp Program.

Whilst it is a challenging time for many, any contribution you may be able to make would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go directly to funding events and activities for a Children’s Holiday camp. This includes pool excursions, days at the zoo in addition to covering travel expenses for campers.
