Support Marcus and regional young Australians with cancer

Nine years on from his own cancer diagnosis, 25-year-old Marcus Heironymus is taking on 'The Chemo Commute' – a 400km walk from Goondiwindi to Brisbane, beginning on 25th July, to raise vital funds for Sony Foundation's You Can Stay youth cancer program.

By retracing the journey he once had to make for life-saving treatment, Marcus hopes to raise awareness of the challenges regional young Australians with cancer and their families face when accessing care in the city.

Since 2020, Sony Foundation's You Can Stay has provided free, uncapped accommodation, in partnership with Quest Apartment Hotels, for regional young Australians aged 15–29 and their families who are required to relocate to the city for life-saving cancer treatment. It's the kind of support that wasn't yet available when Marcus was diagnosed back in 2017.

Sony Foundation will contact you via email (provided at time of donation) to request your size and delivery details. All PJ's will be sent via Australia Post late September. If preferred sizing is not available, an alternative will be provided.
