Hi There, we're Kate & Pechey and we're raising funds for

Sony Foundation's You Can Stay program. 

Every $100 we raise funds 1 night of emergency accommodation in Sony Foundation's You Can Stay program.

You Can Stay provides regional and rural cancer patients aged 15 - 25 years, a self-contained apartment in the city for the duration of their cancer treatment. Can you imagine having to leave your home, family and friends and face cancer treatment in the city. For many in our regional areas this is a harsh reality. 

You Can Stay keeps families together and relieves the financial stress so they can focus on their teenager/young adult getting better.

Emma has seen first-hand the impact of this program and the immediate benefit it brings to families in their darkest hour.

We're also honoured to be doing the Larapinta with Mollie who is 21 years old and one year into remission from cancer. 

You Can Stay provided her with accommodation in Melbourne so her family could be by her side. She is an inspiration to be taking on this trek with us and will be one of the many examples of hope and resilience we will draw on during this challenging adventure.

Get a good pair of hiking boots, make sure you walk them in well before the trek, where 2 pairs of socks (one thick, one thin), used talcum powder and metho will dry up any blisters that you get. Better get off the couch. You are going to do 16 km the day in pretty warm weather. You'll need to do some training, Emms. Put somewhere between 5 kg and 10 kg in a backpack when you do your training. Wish I were doing it. It's amazing country. Enjoy!
