With Sony Foundation’s programs spread far and wide across Australia, we were just too excited when we learnt of the joint initiative between Rainbow Corporate Partner Sky News and Sony Music Australia with their new program, Paul Murray LIVE Our Town. This tour will see Sky News’ number one show visit regional locations across Australia throughout 2019, a number of which are home to Sony Foundation’s programs.
Throughout the series, Sony Music artists, who are also committed and passionate Sony Foundation ambassadors, will join host Paul Murray in each regional town to help create a unique and emotional experience for those living in the heartland of Australia. The tour will continue every month and see some of the biggest names in Australian music including Conrad Sewell, Jessica Mauboy, Daryl Braithwaite and Dami Im.
The first stop on the regional tour is Toowoomba, which featured acclaimed country-music star Adam Harvey. The show aired LIVE on Wednesday 20 February from 9:00pm AEDT on Sky News Live on Foxtel and on regional free-to-air channel Sky News on WIN.
Denis Handlin AO, Chairman & CEO, Australia & New Zealand and President, Asia, Sony Music Entertainment, comments, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Sky News and Paul Murray LIVE for this exciting new series, Our Town. This monthly show will be an enriching and emotional experience for both our artists and the people of regional Australia. We look forward to working with Paul Whittaker, Paul Murray and the brilliant team at Sky News to bring the power of our artists and their music to the communities that are very much the backbone of Australia.”
Toowoomba, home to one of Sony Foundation’s 28 Sony Holiday Camps for children with special needs, received an extra boost when Adam Harvey generously donated a signed Akubra, merch pack and tickets to his upcoming national tour to be auctioned off in support of Sony Foundation.
