On March 17 2022, the insurance industry came together at Bonnie Doon Golf Club, for a day of golf and giving at the inaugural You Can Golf Day.
Thank you to longtime Sony Foundation supporter, Raj Nanra (C.E.O of SLE Holdings Pty Ltd) for having the vision to establish this event with his network of 120 keen golfers.
The event raised nearly $27,000 for Sony Foundation’s You Can Stay program, providing 2700 nights of accommodation for regional youth cancer patients. A moving speech from Raj’s personal experience, and You Can Champion, Nikhil Autar (who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 17), inspired the generosity to assist regional families in remaining together during difficult times.
Raj said, “After nearly nine months of planning this day, to see clear blue skies and a full house was extremely humbling. The difference this will make to so many families cannot be understated. A sincere thank you to all those that supported this event including the sponsors, Sony Foundation and The Charity Challenge.”
