31 May 2019

When #1 ARIA album chart-topping artist offers to perform at your event, you say yes! Which is exactly what we did when Sony Music artist and generous Sony Foundation ambassador Conrad Sewell came knocking. On 1st August 2019, Brisbane be will be treated to Conrad Sewell and other soon-to-be-announced Sony Music artists as they perform in support of You Can, at Sony Foundation's second annual Brissy4Ward event.

Taking place at Brisbane's hottest new precinct, Howard Smith Wharves, Brissy4Ward will see 350 of Brisbane's eminent corporate, media, entertainment and sporting figures come together to raise serious funds for You Can.

A dedicated ambassador who gives so much to the Foundation, Conrad says; "I've met so many amazing kids through the Sony Foundation so it's really close to my heart. When you realise how much some of these young people have really gone through, you want to help, however you can and the chance to do that in my hometown is amazing."

You Can Champ and three-time patient Rachel is moved by the support and involvement of so many to get Queensland's first You Can Centre open. Rachel, who spoke at the inaugural Brissy4Ward event is excited to see the Brisbane You Can Cente open saying; "As a young patient with cancer, having the support of Sony Music artists like Conrad, and the work of Sony Foundation to improve the services and support provided throughout my treatment and into survivorship means so much. I know this You Can Centre is going to positively impact so many young patients, bringing them together for age-appropriate services and support."

Designed to be a social haven away from the hospital wards with relaxation areas, the centre is due to open in the coming months and will feature the latest Sony entertainment technology, kitchen/dining, areas for study, yoga and consult rooms, an outdoor courtyard and most importantly, a space for young people to be together providing peer support.

All funds raised at Brissy4Ward will go towards funding Queensland's first You Can Centre at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital.
