Happy Summer Camps!

What do you get when you cross pool parties, Santa and his sleigh pulled by real-life reindeer, Christmas carol singalongs and surprise visits from celebrities to our Sony Holiday Camps!? One whole lot of fun is what!

It was a summer of smiles for our holiday campers when three camps received very special visits from some of our wonderful Sony Foundation supporters.

Whilst it was a little hot to be the North Pole, Scots College Warwick Sony Camp transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland on Tuesday 4th December when Sony Music artist and Sony Foundation ambassador Dami Im showed up in a surprise visit to.

Bringing smiles, piano singalongs and not to mention, a ride Santa’s sleigh with his reindeer, Dami ensured this camp was extra special!

We feel very blessed to have had Dami visit.  Her genuine engagement with both the Campers and Companions was a joy to behold.  She possesses a sense of fun that endeared her to all, eagerly jumping into Santa’s sleigh behind the two reindeer who were playing co-starring roles on the final morning.”

Ensuring the Christmas cheer made its way to Sydney was TODAY Extra host, Sony Music artist and classic crooner, David Campbell at the Abbotsleigh and Knox ABBOX Sony Camp. Treating campers to their very own Christmas carols concert and spontaneous dance party, David spent hours getting to know the campers and their companions, making for a very special Christmas party to celebrate the end of their 11th annual camp!

It’s not every day a former Olympic swimmer comes to help host your pool party but that’s exactly what happened when Sony Foundation ambassador Giaan Rooney made a surprise visit to the Bond Sony Camp on the Gold Coast. Bringing extra big smiles to their pool party, Giaan spent the afternoon spreading Christmas cheer and ensuring a splashing good time was had by all at the 10th annual Bond Sony Camp!

2018 saw an incredible year with 28 camps hosted in 45 schools and 5 universities around Australia, all providing invaluable respite, lifelong bonds and special memories for over 660 campers and over 1200 companions.

Special thanks to all the Camp teams, volunteers, companions all around the country, who work so hard to continue and grow this beautiful program!

Sony Foundation is now taking expressions of interest for new camps in 2019. To find out more, please email Partnerships Manager Karen White on [email protected]
