Its aim is to capitalise on the unique qualities of Sony and contribute to the advancement of the Australian community by assisting youth and fostering their talents. The Sony companies each contribute to the administrative costs of the Foundation, allowing the net proceeds of funds raised to be distributed in full to a variety of youth focused causes.
Sony Foundation is a unique collaboration of companies and individuals all working together towards a common goal of achieving better outcomes for the youth of Australia. Not only is the Foundation supported by the Sony companies and their staff but also by dedicated and passionate corporate partners including some of Australia’s most loved and recognised brands.
Since its creation in 1999, Sony Foundation has supported a range of charitable organisations who offer innovative solutions to many of the social problems young people face today including drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, disability and severe illness.
Sony Foundation′s Ambassador program has attracted some of this country′s best loved sports men and women, entertainers and business people including Lucas Neill and Tim Cahill, Stan Walker, Peter Overton and Emma Freedman.
